Natal Coastal District
Welcome to the Natal Coastal District
A Brief profile of Natal Coastal District
KwaZulu-Natal is a province of around 10 million people - where 70% are under the age of 35 and 53 % are woman.
Our district is the more populated part of the province covering an area from the Mozambican border - some of our societies are across the border - to Amanzimtoti, which is the southern most city of the Natal Coastal District.
The district comprises 19 circuits and 274 societies, and our membership is in the region of 55 000; served by 93 full time church workers, who include ordained, probationer ministers, evangelists, Bible women and lay pastors, as well as 530 local preachers.
There are currently more than 200 mission2 projects of different categories, ranging from working with the poor and feeding the hungry, to ministries offered to those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS - we have the highest rate of infection in the country, perhaps in the world, and the province has the highest prevalence rate in the world. Many of our projects are in partnership with other denominations, local communities, government and other civic structures.
